Who You Gonna Call - "MothBusters"

Every year during the second week of June, we here in Wyoming,
are plagued with moths.  I am talking hundreds and hundreds of moths!   I had to laugh as, at church everyone was talking about how they were combating the problem and how many moths they have killed.

During this time we do not open any windows and try to not open the door wider than a few inches to squeeze in, but no matter how careful we are, the moths still find a way in the house!  (Notice the picture Chandler drew for all the people that regularly wander around in our yard at night!)

The moths are terrible and drive me nuts as they fly in my face and hair,
join me in the shower, land in my food and leave little poop marks on my walls!  Every year during this time of the moths I think back to the plagues of Egypt and even though I know the moths are not anywhere near as bad as the plague of flies or the plague of frogs or lice, it still gives
me a small taste of that trying time.

Every night we spend an hour or two killing all the moths and every night and morning my floors are littered with dead little moth bodies!  I am constantly vaccuuming and sweeping the floors and washing the walls!  This season of moths last exactly two weeks and at the end of the third week of June the moths will disappear as suddenly as they came!  I am so tired of the moths and am praying that they disappear very, very soon!

4th of July Banner

For our June Ladies G.A.B. Night, I gave a devotion on
2 Chronicles 7:14 and 2 Peter 1:3-5.  We talked about how we are God's people but how far away from virtue we have gone.  It was not the devotion I had planned on giving as I had another devotion written and ready to give.  After God pressing on my heart all day not to give the devotion I had already prepared and me telling God I didn't want to write another devotion, I finally sat down a couple of hours before our meeting with my Bible and concordance and wrote the devotion I felt God wanted me to give.   Several ladies approached me afterwards and thanked me as they said the devotion had touched their hearts.  I am so glad I listened to God and brought the devotion He asked me to give.

For our craft we worked on a 4th of July Banner
with 2 Chronicles 7:14 on it.  After backing fabric with double sided interfacing we traced all the letters we needed for the verse.

We then cut out all the letters.
This verse had so many words and took so much time just doing the letters.  All the ladies were fabulous and everyone took letters home to finish cutting them out so we could finish the banner by this weekend.

Today I took all the letters and laid all the letters out
and began putting the words together.

I placed all the letters on the background and rearranged them until I got them positioned where I wanted.  I then peeled the backing of the letters.

I then ironed all the letters and stars onto the background
to permanently stick them in place.

I know, I know, the background is too busy and almost swallows
the words but it really does look good.  The picture really does not show how good it looks but my husband loves it and since he is the one who asked us to make it, I think it turned out quite well.

My husband has asked us to make another banner for Thanksgiving
so I will definitely be more careful to pick a plainer background
that will make the words pop more!

Starting the Inside Construction

After saving for many months for building materials,
my husband was so excited to head to Menard's to buy a trailer full of wood and materials to get the inside construction of the building started.

Unloading

Measuring and marking

Cutting to size

The very first nail being pounded in for the inside of the building!

The first wall frame ready to be set up!
So exciting to see progress be made to the inside of the building!

Family Fun Day

Saturday we had Family Fun Day and it truly was so much fun!

Keith helping daddy fill up water balloons before everyone showed up.

The two winners of our costume contest,
Maid Marion and painter Bob Ross.  Maid Marion even did a bow and arrow demonstration, which was amazing to watch!

We had various carnival games for the kids,
a cake walk, fishing pond, beanbag toss, penny toss and face painting.

I thought this little tiger guy was adorable as he sat and talked with Keith.

The volleyball game was one of the favorites of the day.

The Tug-a-War and my husband wants everyone to know, this was NOT the winning team!  (Yes, my husband was on the winning team and was upset I didn't get a picture of his team!)

A couple of the ladies made us an awesome Spaghetti Dinner!
It was so good!

After dinner there was an intense football game.  I thought a few of the men were going to break something the way they were diving for the ball!

At the end of the day, the water games felt so cool and refreshing!

We had so much fun and we even had a couple of visiting families join us for the fun!  Definitely something we are going to do again next summer!
